Join Our Crew

We have had people fly from all around the world to join us as crew and have spent from 10 days to 7 months cruising the Pacific with us. We now have friends in Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, UK, Argentina, USA, Australia, NZ and more. Maybe you could add to our list of world wide friends.

We do not have a timetable (sailing requires flexibility as is dependent on weather conditions) and sometimes we find a place that we simply just want to spend more time in. We prefer to travel off the beaten track, exploring places where there are less tourists and allowing us time to spend meeting the locals especially in the outer islands of the destinations we travel to. We spend as little time as possible in tourist places and marinas.

We are not your charter boat, or taxi service.

We are offering the opportunity for you to join us on our travels and experience live aboard life.

Our proposed long term plans at this stage are:
In 2024 sail from New Zealand to French Polynesia in May.
We would like to spend three months sailing around the islands,
from there may look at sailing to Tonga before returning to New Zealand.

What’s expected of the crew aboard this boat

No prior sailing experience required, just enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

If you are a: non-smoker, confident swimmer, travel light (little luggage), eager to learn & work, fit & healthy, trustworthy, open minded, easy going, sense of humour, come join us.

We do not cater for specialist diets, (vegetarian, vegan, etc). We have found it too difficult in the past.

We don’t have mains power to operate hair dryers, so we have installed at great expense the world’s most eco friendly hair dryer. We call it wind. Stand on the back deck and your hair dries in no time.

We ask for a contribution of $60 per person per day. Your contribution covers food, fuel, gas whilst on board. Note alcohol is not included. No alcohol drinking whilst on passage but we all enjoy a drink or two for sundowners whilst anchored in a bay or when in port, so you are welcome to bring your own. Also you can bring your favourite snacks. We do not provide snorkel gear, please bring your own.

You will be expected to pay for your own flights, ferries or buses to join or when leaving the vessel, any immigration/visa fees that are individual (not boat expense), your own travel insurance, personal expenses, all your ashore expenses such as restaurants, drinks, internet, sightseeing excursions etc.

Imagine is a clothes optional boat! Yes, nudity is acceptable onboard.

Memory stick for photos
12v Cigarette charger and leads

Snorkel and fins
Your own alcohol and favorite snacks
Seasick pills

NOTE: If you are going to do a lot of sailing with us or others, you may want to consider purchasing a personal AIS (Automatic Identification System). This unit attaches to your life jacket/PFD. We would recommend the AIS unit over the PLB (Personal Locator Beacon).

PLB units are great when on land hiking. When in trouble it notifies Search and Rescue Organisations via satellite that you need help. If you fall overboard you don’t want an Air force plane to come looking for you, you want the boat you fell off and others around to know where you are and to come and get you. The AIS unit sends your location to all the boats within a 20km range.

Please note the boat is equipped with an EPIRB which is a distress/emergency beacon unit that notifies Search and Rescue if there is a boat emergency.

We DO supply a PFD (life jacket), or you can bring your own if you wish. We do NOT supply personal AIS units or PLB units.

We have not had anyone fall overboard yet. Please don’t be the first.
