You have to be multi skilled when on a boat.
I have been sailing in Auckland since 2000. In 2017 I sold my home and bought SV Imagine, a large boat so I could sail and explore different places, so my Boat is now my home. I have sailed in the South Pacific from NZ to Tonga, Western Samoa, the Isle of Wallis, Fiji, Vanuatu and part of the east coast of Australia.
We are pretty easy going and regularly take on crew to share in our adventures. We do not have a timetable (sailing requires flexibility as is dependent on weather conditions) and sometimes we find a place that we simply just want to spend more time in. We prefer to travel off the beaten track, exploring places where there are less tourists and allowing us time to spend meeting the locals especially in the outer islands of the destinations we travel to. We spend as little time as possible in tourist places and avoid marinas.
